Comprehensive Diagnosis of Mixed Infection with PorcinePseudorabies Virus and Haemophilus parasuis and Phylogenetic Analysis on the gEGene of Infected Strain
In April 2019,100 pigletsof 5-week old were purchased from a breeding farm by a fattening farm in XintaiCity of Shandong Province. Subsequently, some symptomssuch as lethargy, vomiting, diarrheaor even death appeared in more than 40 piglets after one week,a total of 28 piglets died, with a mortalityrate of 68%,which was finally confirmed as the mixedinfection with pseudorabies virus and Haemophilus parasuis through laboratorycomprehensive diagnosis including pathological autopsy, histopathologicalexamination and etiological test. Then the gE gene of isolated pseudorabiesvirus was sequenced and analyzed, and high homology ofthe isolate with current epidemic strain was found, whichprovided a basis for selection and efficient application of the vaccine. Basedon the above results, corresponding control measureswere formulated, and the outbreak was rapidlycontrolled. Furthermore, the reasons, clinical characters and pathological changes of the cases werediscussed and analyzed in the paper, which were ofsignificance for diagnosis and control of similar cases.
